Southern African Development Community (SADC)

10 Day Agromet Update, Growing Season Status, and Regional Flood Watch

SADC Regional Remote Sensing Unit
Latest Bulletins

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) was established in 1980, promoting regional cooperation in economic development. SADC's Regional Remote Sensing Unit (RRSU) in the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources (FANR) Directorate in Gaborone, Botswana produces a 10 day Agromet Update bulletin during the growing season (usually October to April) providing information on rainfall, vegetation, and crop monitoring across Southern Africa related to food security. They also provide a monthly and seasonal Growing Season Status bulletin which provides text summary and charts on rainfall performance, vegetation condition, and country updates and a Regional Flood Watch bulletin which details the impacts of heavy rain and flooding events in the region.
