Drought Watch

Drought Watch web site

The Drought Watch web site is produced by the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA) of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and provides many agrometeorological and drought-related products and information for Canada. These include: near real time maps of agrometeorological indices (actual and departures from normal of Precipitation, temperature, growing degree days, drought management information, and links to other agroclimatological websites).
There is also a complete version of the web site in French.

Information and Products provided are:
  • Current Conditions Maps This section provides national and regional temperature and precipitation maps, drought indices maps (Monthly Palmer, SPI, and Soil Moisture), and Drought Monitoring Maps (Forage Production and Supply, and On-Farm Surface Water Supplies).
  • Historical Maps This section provides a historical archive the products from the Current Conditions section.
