Various Drought and Climate Products

The Beijing Climate Center(BCC) was created by the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) in March 2003 to focus on operational and research climate activities, climate monitoring and diagnosis, climate prediction, climate impact assessment and climate change. There is also a monthly Climate System Montioring bulletin.

Information and Products provided are:

Daily Drought Monitoring This section provides links to maps on the CI Integrated Drought/Flood Index (in chinese and english), the SPI Index, a precipitation anomaly (percentage).

Current Conditions Maps This section provides national and regional temperature and precipitation maps, drought indice maps (Monthly Palmer, SPI, and Soil Moisture), and Drought Monitoring Maps (Forage Production and Supply, and On-Farm Surface Water Supplies).

Satellite Drought Monitoring Products This section provides articles on on drought related topics such as crops, livestock, pasture, pest management, and water.

Climate Profiles This section provides climate and agroclimatic products, drought summaries, various articles, and grasshopper maps and information.
